Guarantee

New Zealand Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the New Zealand Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonable foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The following express warranties are in addition to any other rights and remedies that you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Law:

New Zealand Express Warranty

Britax Safe-n-Sound General Warranty

Britax Safe-n-Sound products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions. In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your Safe-n-Sound product, we will repair or replace the product within the following warranty periods from date of purchase:

  • Britax Safe-n-Sound foam boosters, soft baby carriers and accessories are covered by a 12 month warranty;
  • Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats are covered by:
    • 5 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings;
    • Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty; and
    • Speakers (where fitted) are covered by a 6 month warranty.

Britax Safe-n-Sound Extra Warranty

Register your product with us online and receive an extended 10 year warranty. Extra warranty terms apply as follows:

  • Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats are covered by:
    • 10 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings;
    • Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty;
    • Thermo5™ Fabric covers comfort pad and padding are covered by a 5 year warranty; and
    • Speakers (where fitted) are covered by a 6 month warranty.

*‘Thermo5’ fabric can be identified by a label on the cover of the seat.

All other conditions stated in the general warranty apply.

Britax Wheeled Goods Warranty

Britax Wheeled Good products are thoroughly inspected in our Quality Assurance department prior to delivery.

Britax Wheeled Goods products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions.  In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your Britax product, we will repair or replace the product within the following warranty periods from date of purchase:

  • Britax Strollers, Stroller Bassinet’s and Stroller Second Seats are covered by a 24 month warranty; and
  • Britax Accessories not defined above are covered by a 12 month warranty.

Please read your instruction manual carefully before using any of our products. The above express warranties do not apply where a failure or defect results from improper care, or from normal wear and tear.

Steelcraft Warranty

Steelcraft products are thoroughly inspected in our Quality Assurance department prior to delivery.

Steelcraft products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions.  In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your Steelcraft product, we will repair or replace the product within the following warranty periods from date of purchase:

  • Steelcraft Strollers, Infant Carriers, Stroller Bassinet’s, Stroller Second Seats, Highchairs, Portable Cots, Walkers and Rockers are covered by a 24 month warranty; and
  • Steelcraft Accessories not defined above are covered by a 12 month warranty.

Babylove Warrantees

Please read your instruction manuals carefully before using any of our Babylove products.
The express warranties do not apply where a failure or defect results from improper care, or from normal wear and tear.

Babylove wheeled goods and nursery items: Covered by a 12 month warranty.

Babylove car seats: 5 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings. Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty.

BOB Warranty

BOB products are thoroughly inspected in our Quality Assurance department prior to delivery.

BOB products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions.  In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your BOB product, we will repair or replace the product within the following warranty periods from date of purchase:

  • BOB Strollers are covered by a 24 month warranty; and
  • BOB Accessories are covered by a 12 month warranty.

Accessories and Spare Parts
It is important that you are only purchasing genuine accessories and/or replacement parts that are suitable for use with your Britax products. It is recommended that you only purchase parts that match the model number provided on your product or on the product’s original instruction booklet.  Please contact our Customer Service Department if you require assistance in identifying your product.

Britax US Standard Child Restraint range

  • 12 months warranty on harness, seat moulding, fabric and fittings

Britax EUROPEAN Standard Child Restraint range

  • 2 year warranty on harness, seat moulding, fabric and fittings

Making a warranty claim:

To make a warranty claim, please contact our customer service team on (09) 443 0102 or by email at [email protected].  You will be required to:

  1. Return the product to the place of purchase or to a designated repair agent;
  2. Present your receipt as proof of purchase;
  3. Identify the defect in the product; and
  4. Present the product for inspection on request.

Britax will then advise you whether the product is covered by the warranty.

In the event that a replacement product or cover is no longer available, Britax reserves the right to provide a suitable alternative.

Expenses for making a warranty claim:

If you return the product to the place of purchase or to a designated repair agent, you will not be liable for any transportation costs.

Where you send the product directly to the manufacturer then you may be liable for the costs of transportation to and from Britax.

Britax will meet the reasonable expenses incurred by a consumer in a making a warranty claim. You can claim expenses incurred in making a claim by contacting our customer service team on (09) 443 0102 or by email at [email protected].

Warranty Exclusion

The above express warranties do not apply where the products are acquired for rental, hire, or other commercial purpose.

International Warranty 

Britax Safe-n-Sound and Steelcraft products are available through a network of retailers in Australia and New Zealand. If you are an international customer we do not offer a warranty service outside of these regions.
