ANSWER:

What does the Britax Safe-n-Sound General Warranty Cover?

ANSWER:

Britax Safe-n-Sound products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions. In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your Safe-n-Sound product, we will repair or replace the product within the following warranty periods from date of purchase:

  • Britax Safe-n-Sound foam boosters, soft baby carriers and accessories are covered by a 12 month warranty;
  • Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats are covered by:
    • 5 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings;
    • Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty; and
    • Speakers (where fitted) are covered by a 6 month warranty.
    • The above express warranties do not apply where a failure or defect results from improper care, or from normal wear and tear.

  • Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats are covered by:
    • 10 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings;
    • Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty;
    • Thermo5™ Fabric covers comfort pad and padding are covered by a 5 year warranty; and
    • Speakers (where fitted) are covered by a 6 month warranty.

What does the Steelcraft Warranty Cover?

ANSWER:

Steelcraft products are covered against faulty materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions. In the unlikely case that you find any material or workmanship that affects the normal operation of your Steelcraft product, we will repair or replace the product within the 24 month warranty period.

ANSWER:

QUESTION:

Do I need to register online to receive the extra Britax Safe-n-Sound warranty?

ANSWER:

Yes, you must register your product purchase online for the extra warranty to apply. If you have not registered online our general warranty will apply.


QUESTION:

If I do not apply online what warranty coverage will I have on my Britax Safe-n-Sound child restraint?

ANSWER:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonable foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Our General Warranty includes the following:

  • Britax Safe-n-Sound foam boosters, soft baby carriers and accessories are covered by a 12 month warranty;
  • Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats are covered by:
    • 5 year warranty on seat moulding, harness and fittings;
    • Fabric covers, comfort pad and padding are covered by a 2 year warranty; and
    • Speakers (where fitted) are covered by a 6 month warranty.

QUESTION:

What if I do not have my proof of purchase?

ANSWER:

Unfortunately we require a proof of purchase to validate your warranty claim. Without this information we are unable to validate the date of purchase or if in fact it has been purchased first hand. Rental, hire or commercial use products are not covered by our warranty. Our express warranties are non-transferrable across multiple owners.


QUESTION:

If I have purchased my car seat in the last 2 years and apply online will my warranty be extra to 10 years as opposed to 5?

ANSWER:

Yes, if you apply online the extra warranty will be extended to you. Should you apply at any time within the 10 year time frame the warranty will be extended however we encourage you to apply at time of purchase to reduce the risk of losing your proof of purchase and to benefit from additional communication with Britax.


QUESTION:

If I purchased my stroller or nursery product last year and register my details will my warranty be 24 months as opposed to 12 months?

ANSWER:

Yes 24 months will automatically apply to your product purchase. 24 months will be calculated from the date of purchase and proof of purchase will be required to validate your claim.


QUESTION:

If I have already registered online will my extra warranty apply to my Britax Safe-n-Sound product?

ANSWER:

Yes, if you have purchased your car seat within the last 10 years and we can find this registration within our data. If we cannot find your details we will need for you to provide your proof of purchase to validate your registration.

Why is there an extra warranty on Thermo5?

ANSWER:

Thermo5 is a superior fabric and as a sign of our confidence in the added quality and performance we have extended our warranty coverage.


QUESTION:

How do I know if I have Thermo5™ fabrics?

ANSWER:

Thermo5™ fabric can be identified by a label on the cover of the seat. When you register your product online we will identify this child restraint as Thermo5™ via its product name and serial number.


QUESTION:

What does the 10 year Britax Safe-n-Sound warranty cover?

ANSWER:

The 10 year warranty covers all Britax Safe-n-Sound injection moulded car seats - seat moulding, harness and fittings.


QUESTION:

What is the process for making a warranty claim?

ANSWER:

To make a warranty claim, please contact our customer service team on 1300 303 330 or by email at [email protected].  You will be required to:

  1. Return the product to the place of purchase or to a designated repair agent;
  2. Present your receipt as proof of purchase;
  3. Identify the defect in the product; and
  4. Present the product for inspection on request.

Britax will then advise you whether the product is covered by the warranty.


QUESTION:

What happens if my product or product part is no longer available for repair or warranty claim?

ANSWER:

In the event that a replacement product or part is no longer available, Britax reserves the right to provide a suitable alternative.


QUESTION:

What happens to my warranty if the store closes?

ANSWER:

Your warranty is provided by Britax. You have the choice to deal directly with Britax or the store in which you purchased. Should the store you purchased close please contact Britax directly and they will direct you to the closest Repair Agent.


QUESTION:

I have been given my product, used from a friend, does the warranty still apply?

ANSWER:

A proof of purchase is required for warranty to apply. Our express warranties are non-transferrable across multiple users.
